Articles of Faith

1. We believe the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, as given in what is known as the King James translation, are of Divine authority and are to be taken as the only rule of faith and practice. Deuteronomy 4:2; Hebrews 1:1-2; Romans 15:4; Romans 16:26; 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21

2. We believe in only one true and living God and in this one God are three distinct persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost, comprising a trinity in the Godhead. Deuteronomy 6:4; Malachi 2:10: 1 Corinthians 8:6; 1 John 5:7

3. We believe that in the transgression Adam fell under the condemnatory sentence of the law and as a consequence so did all of mankind and all the human race is therefore inherently depraved and totally unable to extricate themselves from this condition by their own free will and ability. John 5:21; John 6:44; Acts 17:26; Romans 5:12,18

4. We believe in the doctrine of unconditional election that before the world began God chose some of mankind to be his saints and to live with him in Glory. Romans 8:29-30; Romans 9:11; Ephesians 1:4-5; 1 Thessalonians 1:4; 2 Thessalonians 2:13; 1 Peter 1:2

5. We believe that Christ Jesus, who was set up from everlasting to be the Mediator between God and men, did in time really and truly take upon Himself a human body nature, and from sin excepted, and in that body He suffered and died for the sins of the elect and no others. John 17:9; Galatians 4:4-5; Hebrews 7:15; Hebrews 8:3; Hebrews 10:5-10

6. We believe that Christ hath obtained eternal redemption for the elect, His suffering, blood and death constituting a full and complete atonement for their sins. Ephesians 1:7; Hebrews 9:26, 28; Hebrews 10:14; Hebrews 13:12

7. We believe in the sovereign, irresistible, direct, immediate and ever effectual work of The Holy Spirit in the calling, regeneration and sanctification of the elect of God in His own appointed way and time. 2 Timothy 1:9; Rev 17:14

8. We believe there are those of the elect in every nation, kindred, tongue, people and family on earth. Revelation 5:9; Revelation 7:9

9. We believe in the final preservation of all the children of God and they will all live with God in Eternal Glory. John 10:28-29; Romans 8:37-39; 1 Peter 1:5

10. We believe in the resurrection of the dead; the just to eternal joy and happiness; the wicked to shame and everlasting contempt. 1 John 3:2; Romans 8:11; Philippians 3:21; 1 Corinthians 15:49; Acts 24:15; John 5:28-29

11. We believe that good works are evidences of a gracious state and should be encouraged and maintained but are not a condition of salvation. Matthew 5:16; Luke 17:10; Ephesians 2:8-10; Titus 3:8

12. We believe the gospel is to be preached as a witness to the truth and of Christ Jesus, for the comfort and instruction of regenerated men and women and children, but we deny that it is to assert that there is an obligation resting upon the unregenerate to believe that Jesus Christ is their Savior. Matthew 24:14; Mark 16:15; Acts 13:48; Romans 1:16; 2 Timothy 3:16-17

13. We believe that baptism by immersion, the Lord's supper and washing of feet are ordinances in the Church and true believers are the only fit subjects. Matthew 3:16; Matthew 26:26,28; Matthew 28:20; Luke 22:29,30; Acts 8:12,37,39; Romans 6:4; John 13; 1 Timothy 5:10

14. We believe that the children of God who are born again are under law to Christ and it is their obligation to obey this law; in so doing they receive the blessings promised, but in disobedience they suffer the penalty while here in the world. Romans 8:1-4; Ephesians 2:10; Romans 6:4

15. We believe that Christ set in the Church everything necessary for its happiness and well being and that any auxiliary to the church or anything added to the worship service contrary to scripture and apostolic tradition should not be tolerated. Deuteronomy 4:2; 1 Corinthians 9:19-23; 1 Corinthians 11:1-2; 2 Thessalonians 2:15; 2 Thessalonians 3:6

16. We believe that no minister has a right to the administration of the ordinances unless regularly called and has come under the imposition of hands of the presbytery. Acts 13:2; Hebrews 5:4; Matthew 19:28
